Before I share my Emerging Artists Tip Number Seven, let’s take a moment to recap, shall we?

SEE AND BE SEEN.

THE ART OF FOLLOW UP.

STAY IN TOUCH.

DON’T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.

EDIT. CONDENSE. REPEAT.

GIVE BACK.

Emerging Artists Tip Number Seven

MASTERMIND GROUP.  Just to be clear, this is a concept that’s been around quite awhile.  In fact, Napoleon Hill coined the term in his classic, Think And Grow Rich.

Essentially, it’s a peer to peer mentoring concept in which members support and nurture one another. How do you do this?

Identify people more successful than you to model. Study the things they have done to find success, and use their ideas as part of your roadmap. In finding those people to model, you can create your own mastermind group. And the truth? More often than not, the most successful people you know are also the most willing to help.

Now, this can either be a real group of people you hang with or it can be done virtually by reading, studying and asking questions to and about those folks.

All you have to do is ask.

But Don’t Ask This

Please don’t ever ask anyone, “Can I pick your brain?”

Ewww! I mean, really, is there any more gross or disgusting question you could possibly ask? Especially when asked, “Let me buy you coffee and pick your brain.”  This makes me wanna hurl.

Or This

“You want fries with that?”  OK, just kidding.

But DO Ask This

“Hey, CK, can you assist me?”

Reach out to me. Give me five minutes, and let me help you be the best you that you can possibly be.

Awhile back,  my friend, David Hooper interviewed me on Music Business Radio.  You can listen to the replay here.
