When you think of baby steps you may think of small and insignificant motions. Just for a moment,  I challenge you to think of them in a whole different light. Just for a moment, I challenge you to think of them as the real way to change and grow your career.

Whaa?

Yeah, I know how you feel.  I felt that way, too.  But here’s what I found.  Baby steps over time add up.

Here’s the deal: once you get your end result firmly in mind each and every day make at least one intentional action towards that goal.  The profound and amazing part of this which makes it work is doing this each and every day.

Baby Steps?

Daydream or meditate about a song (baby step) and then write a line, write a verse or write a chorus (baby step).  Imagine a performance (baby step) and then create a set list (baby step) and practice at least one song each day (please don’t make me write it again).  Write an email to a publisher or song plugger.  Reach out to an agent. Get it?

Just Nike.

You know, JUST DO IT!

If you need further motivation think of this verse from the poet Anais Nin: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Step One

Pick up your phone, dial my number and say these nine words:

“Hey, CK, can you show me some baby steps?”

It’s. That. Easy. Reach out to me. Now. Let’s take five minutes and see if I can help you be the best you that you can possibly be.

Thank you!
