This is your wake up call. It’s the day after Groundhog Day. February 3, 2021 and guess what? It is high time to get serious if that’s your plan.

Step One

Get out of your comfort zone. My late friend, Danny Petraitis used to stand in the swimming pool and encourage his young son to overcome his fear and jump in the water. Danny would do this by smacking his hand on his chest and shouting, “Confidence, confidence!” His son would respond in kind and then jump into the pool. The boy not only GOT out of his comfort zone, he JUMPED out of his comfort zone.

It’s much easier for you because the first step is just making up your mind to do something, anything, anything at all that moves you right now.

Step Two

Need some ideas? I’m glad you asked.

Learn a new joke, read a different magazine you’ve never read. Go shopping at a different store. Listen to a new playlist. Wander around the mall and watch people interact. Talk to a stranger. Take the bus instead of the train. Drive a new route home from work. Park farther away from the entrance and enjoy the walk. Daydream. Try a new flavor of ice cream. Smile at everyone you meet.

Act as if you are the most confident person in the world. Walk taller. Walk faster. Walk slower. Whatever.

Just try something new.

Step Three

Pick up your phone, dial 615.319.5075 and say these nine words:

“Hey, CK, can we talk about being more confident?

It’s. That. Easy. Reach out to me. Now. Let’s take five minutes and see if I can help you be the best you that you can possibly be.

Thank you!
